‘My’ Warning on Influenza, arriving in May;

‘My’ Warning on Influenza, arriving in May;                                       Pamphlet 01

For the purposes of the reader understanding this warning, I will introduce the Influenza season, as the Coronavirus season, that is arriving in May;

Every warning, and all the details that we have received by the WHO system, places the aged and those with underlying health problems as vulnerable.

A large percentage of our population is at risk, and there is nothing more important than to make them aware of the danger.

Coronavirus, and even its code name, ‘Covid-19′, means nothing to the community, whether black or white, but there is not one person, who does not understand that Flu / Influenza / Pneumonia will kill you, and if South Africa, gives our own ‘Africa code’, to the new seasonal influenza, maybe A(H3N2)(c19) virus, and warned the community that this flu would be worse than Swine Flu, the A(H1N1)pdm09 virus, the experience and knowledge of the community would have clicked into place, and the community would have adopted a self-protection mode, which would have included the protection of the community.

We hear about the risk to the elderly, and that there is risk to those with compromised immune systems, I look at our population that has Compromised Immune Systems.

Compromised Immune Systems.

1: TB & HIV mortality, according to WHO:

TB continues to be the leading cause of death in South Africa. WHO gives a figure of 22,000 deaths from TB in South Africa in 2017 but this excludes those people who had both TB and HIV infection when they died.

These people are internationally considered to have died of HIV.

It is estimated that 56,000 people with both HIV & TB died in 2017.

2: HIV Comments:

“HIV-positive individuals who are on medications are probably fine,” says Karen Hofman, a professor of public health at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. “The people that are most vulnerable … and there are a lot of them … are HIV-positive individuals who are not on medications.” Roughly a third of the 7.7 million South Africans with HIV are not on treatment.

These two sets of compromised immune systems,  plus the normal influenza / pneumonia, will allow the Coronavirus to attach to the immune system, resulting in a death statistic of 80 000, that could be attached to the Coronavirus, in  calendar year, driving a ‘fear’ that will keep us in lockdown, till our economy collapses completely.

Our population is mature enough to protect themselves, and those with compromised immune systems,   from the new A(H3N2)(c19) virus, which we will be arriving in May, but not from hunger and malnutrition, that will follow soon.
