Pamphlet 30
“My Way”
We love to refer to the demise of Communism, as the ‘Fall of Communism’, hidden in the fall of communism, is the change of the economic policies to the Free Market Economy, very simply labelled as “My Way”.
In the USA, Ronald Reagan, originally an American actor and politician, became the 40th President of the United States serving from 1981 to 1989.
Under his control, the Free Market is introduced to the USA, today President Donald Trump, is promising changes, promising the return to manufacturing and bringing employment and wealth to the poverty groups, the size of the group, and level of poverty escalating, daily.
President Ramaphosa, whenever he makes a statement, is calling for the creation of employment, these messages are no more than propaganda, an attempt to manipulate the minds of the poverty group, into thinking change is taking place, how can any changed be promised, if an African farmer, is unable to compete with the Frozen Chicken imports.
I use the label African, symbolising that this problem exists on the continent, the imported chickens impacts of the white Corporate chicken producers in South Africa, and if we can’t compete on a product that has become part of our staple diet, then how can we bring employment to the poverty groups.
Mikhail Gorbachev has recently called for creating employment opportunities for the poverty group, has the ‘fall of communism’ been in the interests of the masses, or just the selected few?
Mikhail Gorbachev served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1985 until 1991, just at the time that the Free Market is taking root in the world.
Gorbachev’s Reform Efforts
Gorbachev started reforming the Soviet Union by implementing policies to bring about individual freedom, bureaucratic transparency and to stimulate economic change, most notably with the Sinatra Doctrine and Glasnost.
Sinatra Doctrine
The Sinatra Doctrine allowed East Bloc governments to be more autonomous and self-governing and gets its namesake for the Frank Sinatra classic “My Way” The name for this policy was first said by Foreign Ministry spokesman Gannadi Geraimov during an appearance on the American news show “Good Morning America.”
Symbolically, he was allowing previously Soviet-controlled countries to go their own way. Prior to Gorbachev, the Brezhnev Doctrine controlled these satellite countries, and maintained that the affairs of these countries should be tightly controlled by the Soviet government in Moscow.
Although this move was met with favour in most of the world, some notable Soviet leaders were unhappy. Erich Honcker, a leader in East Germany, criticised the plan, saying it ended the unity in socialism that the Soviet states shared and maintained that they would become weaker as a result.
Glasnost
Gorbachev implemented Glasnost to make the Soviet Union more free and more in line with other modern industrialised countries.
Russia, was no different to South Africa in the 1970s, 90% of the population living in oppression, no title deeds, excluded from participation in the Economy, a small percent of the population enjoying opportunity and wealth, everything that we could say negative about the treatment of the 90% of the Russians under Communism, we can say about the treatment of 90% of the South African population during this period.
When Communism Collapses, the ‘Apartheid Wall’ collapses, when we South Africans open our eyes, our factories are closed, our shops are stocked with goods provided by the ‘Global Market’, the media celebrate the collapse of Apartheid, we have all been saved, at this time our Communist brothers and sisters had also been saved.
Two generations later, we open our eyes again, and the rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer, this has taken place in South Africa, Russia, and the USA, and Europe.
England, the South African Coloniser, has extracted the mineral and agricultural wealth from South Africa, the Human Dictate philosophy is that, has England not done that, South Africa would be ten times wealthier, both black and white, however, if we look at what the Free Market does to the economic and social stratification in the United Kingdom, the poor are economically excluded.
The following chart reflecting the UK disposable income Gini coefficient, clearly defines the impact that the Free Market has on increasing the income inequality.

“My Way”, Frank Sinatra, and the Cowboy, is all very symbolic, of how during the period 1980 to 1990, economic changes take place in the USA, Russia, and South Africa, our leaders change their Countries Economy, from a Mercantilism Economy, to what we today know as a Free Market Economy. I submit that these changes are all very undemocratic, the control of a nations wealth is removed from our relevant Governments, and transferred into the hands of the 1% of the world, that own 50% of the world wealth, their Free Market policies, ‘we are all allowed to manufacture what-ever we like, to buy whatever we want, where ever we like, and to sell whatever we want, where ever we like’.
(economic changes take place in other countries, the three identified Countries represent the very different scenarios)
My definition of Free Market:
“My way”, the whatever, where ever, Market Economy
This allows the lowliest of the unemployed, to believe that whatever they can produce, they can sell where ever they wish.
In South Africa, our celebrated Constitution, clause 22 of our Bill of Rights, uses Apartheid Laws to restrict the citizen from the Free Market principle, ‘we are all allowed to manufacture what-ever we like, to buy whatever we want, where ever we like, and to sell whatever we want, where ever we like’, yet the global-market is allowed to sell Chinese rubbish in all the stores, developed when the blacks were restricted from purchasing property. and still protected by Apartheid Laws and permits.
